The Routeburn River runs through the Mt Aspiring National Park. Named after Mt Aspiring, one of New Zealand's highest peaks, this park is a dreamland of mountains, glaciers, river valleys and alpine lakes. The area is an alpine heaven for hikers, mountaineers and heli-skiiers. For wilderness lovers, the park offers an extensive choice of valley journeys - including the Routeburn Track. It was while walking along this track that I was constantly captivated by the beautiful colours of the alpine waters that flow down down the Routeburn river. By using a longer exposure I was able to capture the flowing water as well as the colours of this mesmerising river and the surrounding rocks.
