Beijing National Stadium
The Beijing National Stadium, colloquially known as "the Bird's Nest," was designed for the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The stadium is an engineering feat, integrating a myriad of complex systems which are rolled into an aesthetically, conceptually simple and stunning object.
I was keen to capture the Birds Nest's complex structure, and in this image decided to isolating the upper section from the crowd filled lower approaches leading to the stadium.
